Ponds Flat near Lake Watugua

I'm taking a church youth group next week from Roan Mtn to Wautugua Lake. Out last night is at Ponds Flat. I'm worried about a good campsite and water. I don't see much out there about this area. The AT maps shows a campsite and spring. Can anybody give me some observations of that area?

If you are planning to camp on the top of pond flats there is a spring, and a pond for that matter. I don't remember specifically seeing a campsite but it is pretty flat up top and I am sure you could find a place if there isn't one.
