Has anyone had any dealings with this company before? They are advertising a synthetic quilt around a pound for under two hundred dollars. I want one! But since I have only just found out about them, I was wondering what their reputation was.

Here's the site: www.fanaticfringe.com

They have a great rep. They are known most for custom-sized down bags, but I've never heard a bad thing about them.

Thanks! That's good to hear. They have the thing I want at a price I can afford. So I'm hop'in for a good review. Did you buy any gear from them?

Anyone else?

I am not connected to them in any way other than owning a Thompson Peak pack of theirs. 10.5 oz
I love it. I can give you some info. on quilts as I am pretty much a hammock hanging fanatic and have 2 quilts of my own. Not theirs though. I have knowledge of the current makers of quilts.
Fanatic fringe. I dont own one but from the reviews of a couple of folks I've read in the past they were not overly happy with them. Here's one post over at hammock forums:http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...fanatic+fringe (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=495&highlight=fanatic+fringe)
Fanaticfringe does'nt make them in down as far as I know.
www.speerhammocks.com (http://www.speerhammocks.com/) makes a down quilt called a Top Quilt III.
www.jacksrbetter.com (http://www.jacksrbetter.com/) offers several quilts. I own both their No Sniveller and Nest quilts. You could contact these 2 makers and ask them if they would do custom sizing.

Did you buy any gear from them?

Nope, just going by the raves of others.

I have not met a Jacks R Better quilt owner who was disappointed.

Good quality products, reasonable prices, nice guys. I am not a stock holder, just a customer.

I picked up a Western Mountaineering Cloud 9 down quilt a couple of years ago. Love it love it love it. I don't use it with a hammock so I can't speak to that, but I prefer quilts & blankets to mummy bags for ground sleeping any night of the week.

I have purchased both the Thompson Peak and the Polarguard synthetic quilt that is rated for 30 degrees. Both were fantastic products and the communications have been great. I would highly recommend Fanatic Fringe and their products to anyone.
