I was driving back from a hike near Skyland in SNP today and saw the biggest coyote I've ever seen cross the road in front of me. Fewer than 100 yards later I watched a huge Bruin climb over the stone retaining wall, look around, and go back into the forest. I've been in the woods all my life and these were both the largest members of their respective species I've ever personally seen; and to see them both within the span of 1 minute was extraordinary.
