Back door to the zoo is right there, maybe you could get it there, from a spigot or fountain. It's a long way down to the river from the bridge:

ON the South side of the bridge is a zoo. They have restrooms where the water should be potable. On the north side, you have to walk up a mtn right away so i wouldn't go without anything on the bus/train.

The only time i prefer to be without any water is after i've chugged a litre or two.

When I went thru in 1998 it was very dry and the spring 3 miles north of the bridge was dry and I had to go about 6 miles to Graymoor to get water. Best to get the water at the restrooms at the park or zoo south of the bridge

I love water, it is one of my favorite things to drink. You can get water at the zoo or if you walk toward fort montgomery at the intersection south of the bridge you can get water and food a little way down the road.

At the monastery they have a spigot and cold showers in the summer, and in the winter allow access to their restrooms inside the church with running water and flush toilets.
