While laying in my hammock last month, I reached over and got my book out of one of the side pockets. This got me to thinking about using the hammock as a pack. Last weekend I gave it a try and it worked well. The deluxe ultralight has six pockets, three on each side. I placed soft items on one side and not so soft on the other. By leaving the sleeping bag in the hammock and bringing the ends together and tying them off if forms a great carry bag. I could wear it like a messenger bag over one shoulder and for going light it worked great!! :D
Has anyone else used this sort of thing and how did it work out? I plan on trying it out again on a three night trip next week to see if it will be comfortable on longer hikes.
