Hi has anyone use the jetboil stove on the trail in the winter time and if you did how well did it work. I plan on leaving on Feb 3 2008

It worked as well as any Propane / Butane stove would work in the winter! The pressure really goes down on the cold days and as you use it and the gas gets lower the pressure gets worse.

If all you are going to do is boil water....OK. As well remember you have to pack in and pack out those canister's. Think about a white gas stove, MSR Whisperlite or the such. I now use alcohol and with the proper windscreen seems to work the best.White gas and alcohol refills can be gotten just about anywhere on trail. Sometimes the cannisters are hard to find.

I have used the Jet Boil when the outside temp was 5-10 degrees. I kept the fueil container in my bag during the night and it fired right up and no problems in the morning.

Spare lid stashed would be prudent. The base is nasty to get off with cold fingers. Just me...
