View Full Version : Hobo Central
Haven't used the internet much until recently. Just tried to visit hobocentral.com and it is no longer there. When and why did this come about?

Sawman, our webmaster, had/has things going on in his life lately and he can't tend to Hobocentral and 3 other websites he had. Hobocentral has been down since around June.
I understand, kinda sucks. Hope to see it back up someday. Thanks.

Id like to see Hobocentral.com Back up and running too!! That was a great site!! Streamweaver
It was a great alternative to hotmail for email, too! Kinda cool to be
[email protected]. I'd also set up a friend of mine, Tom Horn, with email there whose only access to computers was at the library. Hope they get back.

To have a site where you can just say what you mean and mean what you say.......
That would be classic.

I'd be grateful for one where you knew you could say what you say.

Got to hang out around some blue-blazing hobo hiker trash from hell 10 years ago. Lone Wolf, Pirate, Wee Willy. Good people, fun, and wise in a way you'd never get from a bunch of internet posting. Added a lot to my thru-hike. Didn't even give me a hard time about my poles or filter or hiking pure.
We could sure use a little more of that mellow attitude these days. I guess those Hobos knew a thing or two.

My daddy told me about them hobocentral types. Said they were the baddest a$$ blue blazin, shine drinkin, mofos you'd ever want to see around a campfire. Carried only an empty pot and and old spoon but were never hungry and drank water straight from the crick. Never got closer than 200' to a trail shelter and hung out in places that no one else knew how to get to. Took care of each other and their word was their wealth. Yea boy...when I grow up I wanna be a HOBO too!
Dragonass:D
They've probably disappeared. I think they were in the process of de-evolution a few years back and may have succeded. A crude, yet happy group. :-?

Seems to me it's not so much what live stock and critters they eat as it is their meathod of tendorizing it. When I first enlisted in 65 it was the first time I'd met real live southerners. Mostly I'd seen yankees trying to act like southerners on TV or in the movies. I spent a lot of time listening to to those good ole boys talking about romancing about anything that breaths in the farm yard. One boy said it was still good so long as it was still warm. They said that there were a lot of side benefits. One was that the live stock wouldn't tell (unlike their cousin).
Maybe they were just funnen me?:-?

Wood storks. They fly high around and around sparking this time of year. Flint head ugly birds. They moved here several years ago from Florida because of development. We have a small colony that return every year. They do well here. Interesting birds. These sea islands. Water is getting cold, oyster eating in the river is upon us. Bring your wading boots, oyster knife and a cold beer. Tire iron too to break them up.
