Anyone know if you can purchase a replacement padded strap-the one that goes around both poles of the frame to keep the frame off your back? Now a days I see they are made out of webbing, but on this particular pack they were padded. Thanks for your help.

If you are near Johnson City (Binghamton area) NY, you can stop at the Eureka outlet and pick one up out of a big box. They were $12.99 when I saw them there last, about 2 years ago.
The replacements are thick black padded foam (you can get hipbelts as well. and they seem to also fit Kelty and Coleman external frame packs fairly well.
My old '72 EF Pack had just a tan colored nylon band. I appreciate the thick foam backpad much more.
