I'm thinking of a section hike between Springer and Standing Indian Mountain sometime in late September or early October. Does anyone know what the allergy situation (particularly ragweed) is like in northern Georgia that time of year? Many thanks.

I'd say Georgia has less ragweed than Indiana
Our worst allergy season is in the spring due to the pollens
Come on down, the hiking is best in Oct-Nov

I'll second that. It about puts me in bed for a week or so in April/May.

When Pat andf I hiked that section to neels Gap this last spring the radion said that the pollen count was five thousand times higher than normal. People that we know that have allergies seem to be having more trouble with them this year. This is a non-scientific comment.
