There is a place along the AT, I've seen it in a bunch of picture, but never looked for a name. And just now I noticed that it is on the Homepage of this site; on the top, behind the words. Where is this place, and does it have a name?

That's Macafee Knob in Virginia ...and it is a VERY special place. It's right after the climb coming out of Catawba.

It's an absolutely gorgeous view and a great place to just dangle your feet, close your eyes and let the wind take your thoughts and spirit wherever.
