View Full Version : Virginia--Mill Creek Campsites?
My AT guidebook says that, just south of the Paul Wolfe shelter (near Rockfish Gap), there are "several good tentsites along Mill Creek." Has anyone stayed at any of these "good tentsites"?

I stayed at a decent site South of Wolfe shelter in June. It was probably 2 miles South. It was quite large and at the base of a hill with lots of switchbacks (sorry, dont have my maps with me). It had a big fire ring and had nice flat room for eight tents easily. I wouldn't say there were very many established sites in that area, at least that I saw. Near a piped water site (mill creek?) there was a pretty cool small site just below or North about 1/4 mile from the water pipe and then another 3/4-1 mile to the large site mentioned. Past that small site and up the hill its a pretty long way to more water... I specifically remember wishing I'd got more earlier when I was NOBO from dripping rock. Hope that helps.
