View Full Version : posting trip reports
Where does one post a trip report? Is there a specific format or do I just say a bunch of information about my trip?

Journals..
This is how I do trip reports. Things can be added but I like to keep it simple, to the point andtelling it the way it is.
Catfish Pond/Camp Mohican
Date of Hike: 08/26/07
Trail Conditions Humid. Trail was dry.
Comments:
The breathtaking and panoramic view along the Appalachian Trail rewards the hiker who has trekked up the steep side of the mountain. The view encompasses the pastoral farmland of New Jersey to the east and undeveloped forests and mountain ridges to the west.
The thin soil and harsh climate characteristic is a difficult environment in which few plants can survive. Mountain laurel, wild blueberry, pitch pine and scrub oaks are among the natural vegetation found throughout the area. The Appalachian Trail (http://www.appalachiantrail.org/) runs along the ridge.
Started hiking at Catfish Pond where they’re plenty of blue berries and water. Toke the Rattlesnake Swamp Trail to the Appalachian Trail (http://www.appalachiantrail.org/), then to Route 602. Retraced my steps and hike on the AT to the Camp Road and then hiked to Camp Mohican.
Special Equipment Required: Water, camera, map.
