Does anyone know who the hiker was that had to be rescued, and carried out from watagua lake area? it was in kingsport times news. his hiking buddy was lucky enough to have a cell phone and get out on it, was in paper a couple days ago, hiking in this 90plus temp. better drink lots of water:sun

I found the Knox News article.

They had to be rescued down steep terrain. So my money is on the Iron Mtns in the Laurel Branch Wilderness or Pond Mountain. It lists as one of the hikers become violently ill, one of them probably either had heat stroke or got a taste of bad water.

I will check with Bob Peoples to see if those were some of his hikers that just came through or heading to his place.

TriCities says the Shook Branch section, so I was wrong. They were probably around Pond Flats.
