I am rather new to backpacking and don't know many people to hike with. I live in the Atlanta area and am interested in finding a hiking buddy so I don't miss the beautiful fall season. I don't hike very fast so I will warn you now. Would rather enjoy the moments than worry about making time. Weekends are the best but I still have some vacation so during the week is not out of the question, just requires more planning.

I spend about 3 weekends a month backpacking. If you don't mind hiking with a couple of dogs, you are welcome to join me on any of my trips.

I'm going to do a short hike Friday (afternoon) Sept 28-Sun Sept 30. Current plan is to drop a car at Woody Gap and then get dropped off at the FS-42 crossing of the AT and hike south to Springer, then start out Saturday morning northbound back to Woody Gap. Generally just covering a little section I haven't hiked before. If anyone would like to come along, they're welcome, I'm expecting 2 10-mile days, with a very short trip up to Springer on Friday. I'll be hammocking, but am happy to share cooking gear, etc if that makes the offer more enticing.
