Is anyone familar with "Pelcan" lights? It's a brand used alot by EMS personel out here.

Here's a couple of their smaller guys I've gotten interested in, but am wondering if their worth the money:

I am a Firefighter/Paramedic and I carry one every day in my turnout gear. They are great lights and I would highly recommend these lights to anyone. Now be warned they come in a million different sizes and candle powers so shop around.

20+ years ago, Pelican was considered cutting edge in some respects ... not sure you can say that about them now, but they make reliable & durable products (not just flashlights). I have a 2-cell AAA light that's been bounced around in a toolbox for 20 years, and it's still going on the original bulb. Until the advent of LED technology, I probably used Pelican lights more than any other brand.

I haven't used their lights but I've used their waterproof cases for under water filming on a documentary I worked on and they were a great product

I've used this one...

...for about two years. Outstanding ultralight lamp. I clip it to a headband.

How bout this warranty:

"You break it, we replace it."

That's their lifetime warranty on EVERYTHING!

Once when I was a fireman, I dropped a flashlight off a roof that I was on some 25' to the ground. Upon hitting the sidewalk, the light broke into several pieces: shaft, lens, cap, and batteries. I figured it was a gonner.

Nope, got down, pieced it back together, and almost 10 years later it still works.

Not only is Pelican the highest quality available, it is typically the best value as well (price vs. quality). I have used their lights and cases, and will not use anything else. I only wish they made more stuff......

I think you'll like it.

I glued some 1/8" foam to the 'clip' part to make it comfortable on my forehead. Works great and weighs an ounce.

I had to go see for myself about this warranty and found this little interesting caveat. You gotta love this:

".....This guarantee is void only if the Pelican™ product has been abused beyond normal and sensible wear and tear. The guarantee does not cover shark bite, bear attack and children under five....."

Crap!!!...I shoulda read this before ordering. :p

Are you kidding about the children under 5 caveat?

No, that's actually how their warranty reads.
