Not on the AT but inspiring nevertheless.
76 yr old injured woman survives 2 weeks before being rescued.
Local TV says circling flock of Ravens tip off rescuers(not mentioned in article)

I would love to see the details on how she managed to survive for two weeks. What did she eat? How did she stay warm? Did she gain more useful information from watching survivorman or bear grills?

This article gives more detail, even mentions the circling ravens. But still no details on HOW she survived exactly.
"Family members say they have talked to her but that she had said nothing about her time lost in the woods. "

You'd think with the guy that died in Oregon last year she'd know enough not to leave the road. Amazing never the less.

Or at least stay in one place and not walk in circles?!? I guess easy for me to say, I'm not 76, lost, tired and hungry.

Water from a nearby creek and hope. She was said to be within hours of death from hypothermia.

A testimony to the human spirit. I would also like to hear the details as well. Hopefully they will emerge when she gets home.

It's not that hard to figure out since staying alive for 2 weeks is not that hard. Cover yourself with leaves or dirt to keep warm and drink stream water. After 2 weeks is much harder.

Good for her! Once again demonstrating that surviving is the art of not dying.

Dehydration and hypothermia makes everybody stupid.

Not trail related at all, but an incredible recent story of survival:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/10/AR2007091002492.html?hpid=topnews

That story puts a new perspective on wilderness excursions versus what passes for everyday urban emergencies.
