April 1st for me. No rush to get to Maine and looking forward to seeing you all up the trail.
Now that I look at this post again, it looks like I was the fool for not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're".

You all know that dozens of hikers will be leaving Springer on 1 April right? Each year it seems to be a very popular starting date, just something to consider. See you out there!!!!!

Booked my flight today - leaving Auckland New Zealand on the 30 March, so thinking about leaving Springer on 9 April. I won't be hiking the approach, getting dropped off again at USFS 42.

April is probably the "PEAK" season for thru-hikers. I would like to get a head-start and leave sometimes in February or early March, with the weather being on the dry and warm side lately, we may be alright. Tricky weather during these early months will mean having to be prepared for the worst conditions. I'm not trying to avoid the crowds as much as making sure we can finish before BSP closes for the winter. This will even allow time to return home for any emergency that may come up, and still return to finish in one season. Hope this doesn't happen. Who knows, if things go perfect and we feel chipper maybe we can turn around and do a SOBO back? YEA, Thats the Spirit!!! Would you call that a NOBOSOBO?? I'd call it a darn MIRACLE.

That's a YO-YO, and that is quite an accomplishment for those who try it and complete it.
March 1st is the way to go,
