Get ready because cooler temps are a coming.

Starting today, I finally saw the highs not reach over 80 with cool breezes in the cities, and lows are reaching under 50s. So trail conditions should be favorable. There has been some rain, but not enough to refresh some of the springs yet. But anything is better than over 80-90 degree direct sunshine.

What's the water situation like right now along the AT in the southeast? We've had one hideous drought this year!

The summits and tops in Tennessee are pretty dry.

Havent had too much of mosquitos yet. But flys and bees are probably the worst thing right now, after sun stroke.

I'm going to take advantage of the cooler weather this coming weekend to check out a local section of trail that I haven't seen in years. This'll be my first overnight since my cancer surgery in May, and I'm really looking forward to it, even though some of the kitchen equipment will be staying home.

I've already been doing trail work in some of this summer's heat, so I'm looking forward to cooler temps.
