Congrats. The Spitfire is one of the best combinations of cost, weight and space. Consider making a footprint- mine is cut from a cheap blue tarp, about 2 inches narrower than the tent all around. Use the foot end tie-outs if rain or snow is in the forecast. It's a great tent (but mine sees much less use since I switched to a hammock).

My Spitfire came with six pegs I think, but I needed four more to be able to peg down the rain fly. I've seen tyvec used for the foot print also with grommets added for the poles and pegs to fit in. The vestibule is a little small for my pack but it's a pretty good tent overall.

Eureka makes good tents. Except maybe for the "Spitfire UL". The UL tries to shave weight by omitting the lower hoop. It doesn't work. Not to worry, Partinj. Your tent doesn't have that problem. I've still got my Eureka Gossamer. Carried it over most of the AT and it never let me down.

I've been using one for a couple of years on the AT and Florida trails. I love it - lotsa room, durable, easy, and not too heavy. The price was right, too!
