I've posted on this before, and the general consensus is to freeze dehydrated meals and pull them from the freezer before you leave....but will this work for planning out 6 months worth of food drops? Or should you leave them on the shelf dehydrated, vaccuum sealed, and package them up before the hike? I guess my concern is with finding everything i've dehydrated for months 5 and 6 spoiled in the box.

Any experience on this? THANKS!

I keep all mine in the freezer for way longer than that, vacuum sealed. I can't speak to on the shelf, I'll bet others will answer that part. It might be 1-3 months longer, say 6-8 months as you will need time to make the meals.

Two alternatives though are:
1. Buy a used or new chest freezer if your freezer is not big enough.
2. Ask friends and family to store some. This might get you extra goodies in your mail drops too:).
