I know it's dry out there, everywhere, but does anyone know what we can expect on a hike from Newfound Gap, through Davenport Gap, on to Hot Springs, and then finishing at Devil Fork Gap? Any feedback would be appreciated.

It looks like there is water from Newfound Gap to Davenport Gap, but I am unsure about the rest of the trip. They update the website about twice a week. The water report is at the bottom.

Hikers often pass info on the water the situation to the owner of Standing Bear Farm in Davenport Gap: 423-487-0014, and in Hot Springs: Bluff Mountain Outfitters is right on the trail as it passes though town: 828-622-7162 In September there was no water at Deer Park Mt. Shelter, Spring Mountain Shelter, or Jerry Cabin Shelter.

I was in that section of the Smokies a week ago. Check out post 6 of this thread for the water 1 week ago.

The Flint Mtn campsite has been on the dry side for a long time. Though it was never a really big spring. Flint Mtn shelter should have some flow with recent rain.

Carolina Mountain Club should have the report of the most recent rainfall and waterflow, [email protected] ([email protected])
