Just checked my mail to discover all sorts of birthday messages from all sorts of folks; wanted to thank everyone for writing and for the kind words. In many cases, they seemed far more excited about the day than I am, as at my age, the passing of yet another year is not necessarily something that merits a whole lot of celebrating.
Anyway, thanx to those who sent a note; I'll think of you this evening at 5 Olde, where I expect to lift a glass to, amongst other things, absent friends.
