Due to drought concerns and misinformation out there, I thought that I would share what I saw this weekend (10-07-07). Water was trickling through a PVC pipe. The trickle was not very strong. There may be a creek approaching it with some good pools, but I'm afraid that the water coming through PVC pipe spring may be dried up within the next month without some good rain.

Was there 9/19 and water was a steady trickle. The same as I saw it in June.

I walked by this shelter three days ago.
The spring is absolutely bone-dry -- there is, literally, not one drop of water coming from it.
Which means a 8.4 mile stretch of The Trail without any water sources.
Fill up when you can!

I just forwarded that info to some folks on FB who are planning a hike out there this coming week. Thanks, GB

I did the dry 7.9 miles from Trout Creek to VA624 (past the Dragon's Tooth) last month. Started out with 3.5 L and needed every drop.

Any recent (2019) visitors that stopped here? We're planning a shakedown on the Triple Crown with some of my Scouts and I've heard of campsites nearby and want to know of that opportunity along with water sourcing there.

Thanks in advance.
