View Full Version : Rain/wind pants?

One of the few things I am missing is a good pair of rain pants(last ones are toast), I was thinking frog toggs but am not sure what to get(have to order online) I have tried on the REI pants and they are fine. Gonna use them on 2008 thru and have to save money/weight big time!!! Anyone have a good idea for 50 or less? I can always jet over to the REI on 85 in Atl for the REI pants, I think they were around that price.

Frogg Toggs worked OK for me, and the price was right. A bit over $50 for top and bottom. Bulkier than silnylon, but they provide warmth as well as rain/wind protection. Impossible to keep clean.

you can buy Frogg Toggs here for 40.00

"Pro Action" I believe. I bought from the Frogg Toggs site. Click on "Products" and then "Classic Suits". $50 plus shipping.

I like my Marmot Precip pants, they breathe better than Goretex, at least better than the old Goretex, I've not tried this latest stuff. If money isn't a problem I'd try that uber light stuff that OR makes, the jacket and pants weigh less than a pound.

Wrong Thread! Sorry! Doh!

The Marmot full zip goretex rainpants served me well in 05. You can zip them up or down for venilation. I used them as my only long pair of pants, in combination with long underwear..

Add another thumbs up for Precips. I got mine on Steepandcheap.com for something insane like $24.99. They pop up on there occasionally.

I think I paid $45 for my full-zip precip pants at a store in Huntsville AL on closeout, Sierra Trading Post has them from time to time, they always seem to have the Precip jackets, though they might only have some crazy colors.
