My family will be out this weekend, either a hike from Reed's gap to the tye river. or from Thunder hill shelter to just south of Bryant ridge shelter. Does anyone know what the water sources are like.....at Maupin Field shelter, Harpers Creek shelter, Thunder hill and Bryant Ridge?
Thanks in advance,
TB

Some water info in this thread (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php?p=424068), Bryan Ridge was mentioned. I don't have a map handy to see if those fit your hike exactly.

I passed these shelters about a month ago. The spring at Thunder Ridge was completely dry. The creek at at Harpers Creek wasn't running, but there were some useable pools not far from the shelter. The spring behind Maupin Field was low but useable. Bryant Ridge has a small creek running next to it, and I'd be a bit surprised if it were completely dry. Take all that for what it's worth...
