Trout Creek, in the gap between Dragon's Tooth and Audie Murphy, should be fine. It's a big stream. I believe there was water to be had near Niday shelter, but like a fool, I didn't take any. There's no water on the ridges. (The ridge on Sinking Creek Mountain was miserable.)
The spring at Sarver Hollow was nearly dry on Sept. 18. Some folks dug it out a bit and managed to get a few more liters of silty water from it. Laurel Creek was running nicely, halfway up Kelly Knob on the north side. When you see good water, camel up and fill your water bottles to the max.
