Water Availability Mt. Rodgers Area

Saunders Shelter, Lost Mountain Shelter, Buzzard Rock/ WhiteTop Mt. area, Rhododendron Gap are the four campsites my buddies are gonna use next week. Any water updates, or alternate camping areas? They are going for a little stroll up there for the first time in quite a few years. They have great map skills and good trail sense. Thanks in advance for the help.:sun

I was there this past weekend and I can tell you that there is no water at Tho mas Knob Shelter. There is water around the Rhodo Gap area.

My friends got home this evening. Rain, rain, rain and rain. They had a great time, and had no problems with water. That's the good news. Bad news is that their shuttle (credit card backed) pick-up at Massey Gap for noon Sunday (today) never showed up.:confused: They are going to call on Monday to find out what happened. Thankfully some local good ol' boy helped them out after a two hour wait.:sun
