On Saturday October 13, 2007 a strange acting raccoon was in trail about 50 yards south of Wise Shelter in southwest Virginia (Grayson Highlands). He was not frighten of any hikers and jumped at a north bound hiker when he was startled. (Beware)

Yep. It's doomed. Would not want it near my ankle in that state. I've seen them fight healthy and would not want to be around one that's sick.

Fine by me if you want to try it. Cook it thoroughly. Make sure to keep us posted -- if it takes a few days, weeks, or months after ingestion for your rabies to develop, we'll be interested to know.
