I am in JC, TN. I mainly have only hiked the Little Stoney Creek area in SW VA.

And I did a hike up Pine Mountain from the school camp in KY years years ago.

Sorry to hear about High Knob. I lasted visited it at Easter. Its bad when scum of the earth think its fun to play with matches in a forest.

I wondered what the smoke was coming from yesterday morning I was driving through Big Stone to go to Cave Springs for a while and noticed some smoke off in distance. I had just checked the fire status though so I didn't think anything of it. I had some great times up there and it will definetly be missed.

Well I'm up for it any weekend. I have class until 12 on Fri and not again until 600 Monday Night. I would like to hit Pine Mountain, Chief Benge, Devils Fork, Mount Rogers, Stone Mountain, and maybe a few other small day hikes.

I can do overnighters in SW VA. I'm in Roanoke so I can't do dayhikes so much down there.

Where are ya relocating to? I've been lookin to go to SNP. Haven't gotten around to it yet. PM me when you wanna go hiking/backpacking in and around these areas.

Oh and to confirm...where's Pine Mtn. It seems sooo familiar but I just can't place it.

Pine Mountain is 30.8 miles point to point. . My dad hiked it last fall and loved it. You just have to make sure to carry plenty of water I've heard water sources up there are unbelievably low and that your filtering water of the bottom.

Yeah definetly, I'm getting alot of resistance at home about taking a semester off. So I may just spend the next two years getting ready and section hike from Springer to Damascus and then start from Damascus during trail days and then Finish my NOBO.
