I feel like I am losing it. I just tried on a backpack at a local store (good quality stuff). I am almost positive it was a Kelty Scarab 55. However it is not on the Kelty site and when I do a search on this thread for it it shows nothing. I know I have heard of this item on this forum so I can't figure this out. Obviously I have the manufacturer wrong or the name (Scarab?) wrong. Can anyone set me straight? It was a nice piece of gear; weighed about 2lbs 5 oz. and felt good with 20 lbs in it.

Thanks.

It's spelled "Skareb":

Someone here is trying to sell a medium sized one for $100.00:

Thanks Spelled wrong...and wrong maker too.

Having solved that, does anyone have any experience with this? I have a vapor trail and I love it but want something with some pockets and a "stuff it" sleeve. This has it.

What do you all think of this backpack?

Very close fit, which was nice. Very hot, which wasn't.

I thru hiked the AT with it the whole way in 2007 and it worked great! Only saw one other one out there and he liked it too.The support was good for a light pack.Once I got used to it fully loaded,I felt one with it.Maybe that was cause I walked for 6 months with it,not sure! LOL By the way,my trail name was WrongWay! Not sure who the wrongway is who wrote above me?

I took on the name Wrongway years ago in mountain bike racing, dont worry, I wont be hi-jacking your trail name next year :)
