Just spent a wonderful week enjoying the AT south of Franklin, alternating staying on the trail and at Ron Haven's Budget Inn. Ron was a true blessing, shuttling us around, picking us up both at arranged and unarranged spots (when we made faster time than we thought one day).

Dave in the office at the Inn was super friendly and very helpful.

Great stay, and we'll be back in touch with Ron when we're in the area again. Highly recommend getting in touch with Ron for anyone hiking in the area and needing a place to stay or a shuttle. His wit, humor, and knowledge of the AT is awesome! He needs to write a book. If you're in the area, ask him about Henry and his 84th birthday gift.

Listen, you have some things to learn in life and one of those things are that you need to give most everyone a fair shake instead of listening to the opinions of others.

The man is in a hiker related business and he is not able to satisfy every persons wants or needs.

Now that you have thought about what I have just said to you, I think for your own honor it would be best for you to make an apology to Ron on that thread.

i heard this Ron Haven guy is a con artist.

About a month ago I needed a shuttle from a campground about 12 miles or so from Franklyn. I had just finished a long walk, was tired and hungry and it was way after sundown, dark, about 9:00 in the evening. When I called the number in the guide, the answerer said Ron had already gone home for the evening and so was likely having dinner or relaxing but said he would call anyway and call me back to let me know. He did, Ron would and very shortly he showed up in his large whit van, in considerably better humor than I would have had if our roles were reversed.

But the best part of that experience was his charge for that 25 mile or so round trip, now near 10:00 PM...when I politely asked him, asked, he just smiled politely and said it was free!

Whitefoot, if you have any remaining honor at all, you owe this man at least a personal PM apologizing, if not an open apology here. He is certainly NOT a con artist!

I see all the good stuff has been deleted. Anyone know if the tough guy showed up at Neels Gap today? I'm pretty sure the pansy didn't! Too bad, really would of made a funny scene of 2 dumbasses hurling insults at each other from across a parking lot

I don't think Survivor was acting like a tough guy or a dumbass. The pansy was flapping his jaws and got called on it.

I didn't know somebody was going to fight in this thread? How did I miss that?

Why does it bother you? Just don't read it.I have certain obligations as an oracle to uphold. :sun

For the record the condo in which Dave lives was struck by lightning yesterday and had a pretty nasty fire. Knowing Dave I would imagine he was busy helping neighbors.

However, the Survivor dude did say "meet me at Neels Gap" thrown together with the word "coward". So you tell me, if that's not tough guy/dumbass/ adolescent stuff, what is?
