What do you guys think of this as a thermal/baselayer for camp and for sleeping in? You think this is pretty warm or should I go for something else?

I'm sure the North Face stuff is good, but that Capilene is the best stuff I've ever used, it doesn't pill, it doesn't stink (by that I mean your stink washes out completely). I have some light weight capilene bottoms that are all faded from so many washings and they are still serviceable.

Another cheaper option is one those brown army poly pro zip neck shirts if you can get one cheap, they are warm. Maybe add a light fleece hoodie if it is cool enough, layers are the way to go.

Add some of the new silk weight stuff next to your skin, I'd try one of the new antimicrobial fabrics to keep the funk factor low.

I'd go for the North Face one betweeen those two, because 80% of Patagonia's stuff will not fit me properly, as it seems like the make most of thier stuff for short and/or overweight people. Ibex makes some really nice stuff that fits me very well and is what I use, thought it isn't as "bomb-proof" as polypro.
