"Survivorman" Les Stroud was interviewed on WRKO in Boston on Saturday. The interview is now available on the WRKO (http://www.whiteblaze.net//http://wrko.podzinger.com/viewMedia.jsp?index=1&start=0&il=en&col=en-all-pod_wrko-ep&res=108203127&num=10&filter=0&expand=true&match=query,channel&dedupe=1&y=0&s=PZSID_0000007687;Heard+on+WRKO&x=0&e=13642473)website. He takes some not so subtle shots at Bear Grylls... I thought it was funny.

I've always liked Les a little more than the Brit, but after the debacle over the Brit spending nights at hotels, that pretty much ended my viewing of his show for me.

I enjoyed, and was somewhat surprised, them televising a show about Les' behind the scenes planning of an upcoming trip to the wilderness.

I never watch any of the reality shows, but if someone comes up with a thru-hike type show that would be cool. Maybe Warren Doyle could get a TV crew to follow his Circle Group once. I'd like that. Would want to tape them all fording the Kennebec and at an AYCE.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Can you imagine the response from people who've never hiked? I mean, any group of thrus at a buffet.... YIKES!

...and sneaking into a movie theater. Now that would be cool. :D

The non-hiking public wouldn't believe for a minute the large quantities of food a thru-hiker would put eat. I remember one year at Trail Days, back when the Church would provide breakfast in their basement, the amounts of food consumed by the thru-hikers had the visitors there in awe and disbelief. Was a darn good breakfast, I believe the next time I went they had quit doing it and I had to go to a rescue squad bldg on the outskirts of town to eat. It was good too, just a ways out.
