What is the screen size in pixels that you use on your computer?

This will be helpful for us Admins on WhiteBlaze knowing what our users are using.

If you don't know then you can minimize all your open programs and point your mouse some where on the screen (desktop) where you are not on top of any icons. Now click right click your mouse button, then click PROPERTIES, SETTINGS. Look at the size under SCREEN RESOLUTION. This will tell you you screen size in pixels.

Be careful because if you mess with this setting it will change your icon arrangement on your desktop.

Chances are that most users are using a 15" CRT display, running at either 800x600 or1024x768.

Kerosene...you using a TFT (LCD) monitor?

Well the reason I asked is because I am using a 1024 x 768 pixels. I never realized that the frontpage logo took up a lot of the screen for users using 800 x 600 pixels. I noticed when I used my girlfriends computer. Maybe I should shrink it down some or make it look like the forum headers?

What does everyone think?

I switched over to 800 X 600 and can't get it all on my screen. Maybe a little note somewhere saying "depending on your system, best viewed at 1024 X 768 or 800 x 600"

Or, leaving it alone. The folks will find out what works best for them.

Whatever you do is fine with me. You've done great so far.

1280x1024. As a volunteer webmaster myself, I have learned the lesson of double-checking my sites with different browsers, different screen settings, and so forth. Good for you. And GREAT JOB on WhiteBlaze. I think it's AWESOME.

Work: 1280x1024, 21" Viewsonic Professional Series P225f monitor.

Home: 800x600 15" no brand name.

Quite a difference between the two in terms of how things display.

800 X 600. My eyes can't deal with higher resolution on my present monitor (17").

1600x1200, I didn't see it as one of the options.

When they bought us 21'' monitors at work, I just had to get one for the house. :banana

1280 x 1024, for some reason not an option in the poll. This is a common res for folks who work (at home or an office/studio) in "creative" fields. Typically, their monitors will be larger than most also.

I find that unless you have a 17-21 in monitor, 600-800 dpi works just fine. Hello, to all in cyber hiking country. Looking forward to this weekends walk in the woods. Kozmic Zian

600x800 on a 17" screen.

I've tried up it, but everything comes out too small and my eyes are weakening. Sometimes I miss things on the home page if I don't scroll right, but the forums usually work fine.

It's like an elf, or a leprechaun, but smaller with butterfly wings. They live in the woods and are magical.

That's a pixie! A pixel is a unit of code that corresponds to a color. The more pixels per inch the sharper your image.

for some of us a pixel is just as magical as a pixie (and the idea of hundereds of pixies loose in my computer does sound like fun). My Mac is down right now, getting some upgrades and such, so I'm using my daughters PC......... 1024 x 768. As an artist, I do miss all those extra "pixies" running around in my Mac, the colors/resolution are just not the same.

Like some others here I switched the PC over to Firefox ........ found it to be a better system on many levals.

Attroll,

Use your best judgement or whatever strikes your fancy. Regardless of what you use, we can adapt and overcome. Great job on the website!!! Being concern about this level of detail just shows the amount of work and dedication you put forth.
