how about a "sometimes", or "depends on scenery\weather" column?? My choice would be in either of those columns.

I play my own music on the flute. Tried the headphones thing, didn't like it. Carried a radio 1 more time, but never used that either.

i carry a radio but i dont use it till i get to my campsite. i play it low inside my tent or sitting in front of the campfire.

I carry a walkman with me but I don't listen to it while hiking. I find that more of a distraction but at a site I will listen to it as I drift off to sleep.
