Has anyone used this cook set (http://www.camping-gear-outlet.com/camping-gear-63950.html)? I'm looking to replace my 35+ yo Coleman aluminum set because the handles are getting 'iffy' at best. The only pieces I still use from the original 16 piece set are the big pot and the fry pan - I just put all of my other cooking stuff inside (Vargo Triad TI alcohol stove, small spoon and spatula with handles sawed off so they fit in pot, the Dino spice thingy (http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100598&navAction=jump&navCount=0&id=prod1491327), a various other stuff). I don't necessarily need or want the stove part for backpacking, but would like to know how it works for car camping.

I can't see a lot from their pictures on that website. I guess my eyes are getting to old to be able to see little bitty stuff like that.

I like the look of the windscreen, but that can be made easily from a piece of flashing. If it was my money, I think I'd buy one of the mini Trangia stove sets, and make a good cone shaped windscreen for it. The well designed windscreen and a good reflector make the stove a lot more efficient.

Looks an awful lot like a Trangia 27 (http://www.trangia.se/english/2922.27_series.html)series. I have the 27-1 that I keep in the pantry with other emergenc supplies. It's nice.

Would you consider a Trangia set made with anodized aluminum (http://www.campsaver.com/product.php?cid=308&pid=trg0001)?

DWM, I looked at the Trangia 27 series only comes with 1L pots - even the 25 series pans are 1.75L The only thing in their line that comes close is the little Billy (http://www.campsaver.com/product.php?cid=308&pid=327569) - a 2.5L that costs as much as the entire Lexmark kit.

BTW, the Ldmark pans are anodized aluminum as well.

Hi FD
We have that set , or a very similar one, here in Aussie. It is indeed a Trangia look-alike . Because I usually cook for myself only, it is a bit too big and heavy for me, but the price is right. Might have another look at it when I go to town next time.

Franco, perhaps the camping set with frypan (http://www.trangia.se/english/2930.camping_o_scouting_sets.html) would fit your needs. I found several AU dealers who sell it, but since I am largely unfamiliar with the firms decided not to post any direct links.

FD, I think, and I stress think, that I have a Coleman set at home in the shop in good condition. I won't be able to check until Friday but if it is the same set as your old trusty, and you want it, it's yours. It's probably the same age as yours but in good shape as I recall.

BTW, the Ldmark pans are anodized aluminum as well. You're correct, it does say that in the specs.

Sure doesn't look like it in the photo.
