Jocassee Gorge - Foothills Trail, SC

There have been quite a few threads regarding the Foothills Trail over the past few years. Those with interest in this trail and the surrounding area might enjoy reading a series of articles that have appeared in the past couple of days in "The State" newspaper (Columbia, SC).

Developers have and will screw up access to areas such as this. I can think of a lot of areas where you once could easily access a scenic area on NF land only to have the bordering land bought up and blocked by developers, then the individuals who buy the homes overlooking said scenic area will have you arrested for trespass when trying to gain access.


The last time I was up at Horsepasture River, you couldn't even hike to Rainbow Falls or any of the other falls due to developers buying up land all along the road.
