A donation to Appalachian Trail Conservancy is important because our government sure does not see the goals of the AT as a priority.

If you are uncomfortable with the policies of the ATC, support a local maintaining club. They really need our help too.

The issues of concern seem like nitpicking to me.

Although I've had bad luck with affinity credit cards and stay well away from those now on general principle. I'd rather write a check.
