Has anyone used one of these?

I worry it is hot. The description says poly coating, which to me means not very breathable. Warm is good, sauna is not!

Thanks.

I need the synthetic version of a Mad Bomber.

Rather warm, unless it is brutal and blowing.

Maybe if your brothers are named Moe, Larry, and Curly and you hunt Wabbits it doesn't look goofy.

I have one of those. It's not something I'd hike in except maybe in a serious blizzard, but it's great around camp in cold weather. The shell material is breathable, with a DWR finish, and it has a nice pile-lined interior.

It looks particularly cool when the ear flaps are sticking straight out and dangling.

I'm wearing one right now. Mine's purple with green fleece lining. I put it on in November and take it off in March. I use a capilene balaclava with it if I'm out over night. When people snicker I tell them it's as warm as it is silly looking. It's a great hat and it's very breathable.
I also have that exact Mt. Hardware hat that Franaticfringer linked to. It's my back-up.

My son has one of these and swears by it being a great hat however he never wears it above somewhere around 10*-15*.

Poly coated but breathable? OK>

Now I want one bad.

Purple? What brand? No one over 40 around here laughs at anything that is warm, if they spend more than 5 minutes outside. I like purple too.

Just the range I need to cover.

It's Columbia (http://www.columbia.com/Product.aspx?top=6&p=5518&cat=61030&viewAll=False) just like the Campmor one. Apparently they just offer black, navy and gray now. I got mine 6 or 7 years ago.
It's my #1 hat. I don't have much hair so I need it.

It can make you look like a conehead. Pushing the top down some solves that issue. My brothers names are Manny,Moe,and Jack.:D

Ever see someone try to drink a seis all at once. What a mess.

Unacceptable.
