Has anyone here at WhiteBlaze lived out through an entire winter(on the AT or otherwise)in a tarp, a bivy bag or a hammock? I don't mean for several days on the trail, I mean permanently between November-March using a bivy, tarp or hammock. (Of course, many people use a bivy with a tarp, so either/or both).

There was a lady that thru-hiked the AT this summer named Shiver. She lives in VERMONT and sleeps every night outside in her Speers Hammock!!! Every night!! That is hardcore!:eek:
