Edible Wild Plants Book?

There are several I found on Amazon.com. I live in the SE and am interested in a book of this type. Does anyone have a preference of one over the other?

I found a peterson field guide to edible plants at the goodwill for 25 cents. I'm sure it is the same one that is on your amazon link, except mine is 20 years old, but in better shape than my newer peterson bird guides. Anyhow I like it a lot though I wish there were more color pictures. It is very thorough, as are most peterson guides, however I don't have much of a comparison as this is the only edible plant guide that I own.

I grew up with Euell Gibbons books, such as Stalking the Wild Asparagus:

I don't have this book anymore, in fact, I don't have any general purpose books on edible plants. Do keep in mind that edible plants aren't always plentiful, and that there are a lot of people in some of the places we visit.

If you are interested in mushrooms, that's another matter, and you're best off with someone who knows. That said, I *love* this book, which is the main one I use "when in doubt":
