our longest trail used to be the old alpine way. sounds interesting.

there is also the bibbulmun track over in perth (iirc round 900km?).

my guess is you can only get a 3/6month tourist visa to visit australia. looks like it goes through some rugged terrain, but it states its mountainbiker/horse friendly with lots of droving tracks.. so if you can heard 1000 cattle along it, it should be easily walkable..

aus is vast, so resupply would probably be a big issue...

Can't remember the name, but it's on the southern tip of the South island of New Zealand.
And the Aussie Bicentennial trail.

Now all I need is a few hundred thousand dollars :rolleyes:
