does anyone pack any of those portable shower devices that heat the water in the sun? wouldn't it be nice to rinse off the sweat and bugspray? they dont weigh much. the weight is worth not getting your sleeping back all funky. there are environmentaly safe soaps on the market too although i understand the soaps are not 100% ok for the environment but are safer than regular soaps.

here is a link to one sold at campmor, they have 3 different sizes.

Save your money and the pack weight. Being funky is just part of being on the trail.

Feedback.... I might be interested if this could double as a water bladder, instead of using a CamelBak, Platypus, or MSR Dromidary bag. Multi-functionality would increase its attractiveness for sure. Besides serving as a water bladder, I wonder if you can blow it up and use it as a pillow. Hmmmmmmm.

I agree, a warm shower would be great some days!
This might be a better backpacking model, though (3.5 oz)....

May have answered my own questions by snooping around on Campmor...

Cabalot,

I used to carry one of those sunshowers, the small one. Then I took an extra cap to my platypus and drilled 7-8 holes in it. I use it to rinse dishes, and if I'm on a week long trip, to shower. Since I already use the platypus for hydration, I have only added the weight of the cap. Besides, it takes forever for those solar showers to heat up. It's much easier to add a liter of boiled water to 2 colds ones if needed.

Im w\ alligator. Spend the 1oz of fuel to boil a quart of water, and dilute it 1quart hot:2 quarts cold. It makes a very refreshing shower. I took a soda cap and used a thumb tack and put 8 tiny holes. With a 3 liter platypus (my incamp water bag), i get a steady stream of water for 4 mins:) A great feeling after that 18mile day!

great idea especially when you dont have the time or daylight to let the sun heat the water.
