Im going to leave here on a train and get to Atlanta on the 26th early evening. Are there any shuttles running that close to the holiday that could take me North so I can hike south to Springer, and leave out from springer on New Years day to the train station??

If the train runs through there you're better off getting off in Gainesville. You could try the Hiker Hostel or the list on the ATC website
