My husband's cycling coach dropped an interesting piece of information on the class yesterday. He pointed out that body fat stores water. The less body fat you have, the more careful you need to be about keeping hydrated because you have less stored on you.

I just knew carrying a few extra pounds isn't all bad.;)

"I'm not fat, I'm just well hydrated."

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I like it too. I'm officially adopting it as my trail slogan. I've had the pleasure of meeting Marta in person, so she knows that I will never go dry! :D

My parents just sent me a case of wine for Christmas... That oughta help.

I've always wondered why my husband has so much more trouble with dehydration than I do. (Two liters of IV fluid when he had giardia...) The mystery is solved. He has no storage capacity.

I'm not sure what this means in relation to body mass - but my hubby who is a pretty big guy gets absolutely dry as a bone hiking. He drinks like a fish. It's unbelievable how much he puts away. a 3 liter platy is nothing.
