Well, just got back from a short weekend hike with my scout troop here in ohio, and my new osprey held up excellently. Not a lot of stress on it, but it worked great for me. I was worried about the room inide, but it helped me stray away from overpacking. So far an excellent choice, and I recommed this pack to any new buyer.

How much weight was in it, do you think?

With my 65, I thought the same thing until I started packing it better and using the outside pockets more, which are pretty huge. You'll be surpirsed what you can squeeze inside one of those.

Don't forget you can pack clothes inside the AirCore area also, especally this time of year.

Before I got mine, I used sandbags to try it with 30, 40, 45, and 50 pounds. For me, it did well at those weights, it never "bottomed out".

I usually carry between 35 and 45 lbs. with no problem.

how tight would you say you kept your shoulder adjustments on that particular pack?

Just wondering.

since you own the pack, any thoughts on how to tell if the torso was too long for ya?

Any good outfitter should measure you for size. Here is a link to Osprey's site about sizing.

I had about 35 lbs. in it...maybe a little more. Since I lead my troop as SPL, my dad makes me carry extra water case the young kids don't bring enough. I had one boy bring two bottles of Pepsi and no water!?! I also tightened my straps a lot, I don't like my pack slippin 'round at all (just me though).
