Has anyone hiked the Chimney Mountain trail in Tennessee? (It may be called Chimney Top, I can't remember.) It's not a part of the AT, but it's near Newfound Gap. I heard that it's a really tough trail to hike because of the steepness. Is it?

A wonderful trail. As for steepness, your from Georgia, you eat steepness. Actually it is steep, but relative to what. Hike it, you'll like it.

Nice trail with outstanding views. I don't know if there is any trail in the Smokies that you couldn't say that about though.

A nice trail, one steep section. My wife, a non hiker, did it easily. One of the best views in the smokies. Be careful though, the drop off of the top of chimney tops is a long one, and you would be quite a way from rescue.
