We may not always look above our campsite for dead limbs but here is where a live-looking tree fell in a freak accident and crushed a jogger:

How the heel can you not see and/or hear a tree of that size falling in time to move??!!! Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time!! Streamweaver

That is darkly humorous. I'm sorry, but of all the ways to buy the farm thats a good one. My favorite statistic is that 3-5 people a year on average are killed in vending machine accidents.

sorry to hear about the jogger death....
but, i truly believe...
when its your time...wether youre in bed asleep, or on the trail, jogging or hiking, its your time to go!
