View Full Version : Nikwax vs Woolite for Wool and synthetic clothing?
Does anyone know what the differences are between NikWax and Woolite? Nikwax seems to be pretty expensive and only comes in small bottles, they even seem to have a Nikwax Wool version specifically for wool. Will Woolite work just as well? Are there any other options? I couldn't find the incredients anywhere for the Nikwax stuff.

Woolite will work fine, I thought Nikwax was a wash in DWR treatment, I don't see how that would do wool any good. Ivory flakes would work, 'cause it's just soap, no surfactants. Ivory flakes work well for Goretex also, then spray it with a water repellant.

I think but am not sure about this: Woolite is a soap that will not remove oils from wool while Nikwax cleans and restores repellance. Last time I checked, I got overwhelmed by the number of Nikwax choices.

One is used orally, and the other rectal.
