Allright, fine, I'll be the 1st real response......
......quit smoking.
2002: quit 9 months
2005: quit 4 months
2008: hopefully for good. For the record, I am not a "real" smoker; I go for days at a time without but as soon as I pass beer #3, it's game on. Time to drop this crap. OK, that's BS, it's more like beer #1. still

Me to, but I couldnt imagine going a few days without a cigarette. Unfortunatly I'm up to about a pack a day (average I guess). To be completly honest, I dont think I am ready to quit but definetly cut down... My real goal is to completly stop by March of 08... *fingers crossed*

1. Become a smaller Dino - a lean, mean hiking machine :banana (OK, a somewhat less-tubby grandmotherly Dino :D)

2. Become a stronger hiker. :sun

3. Eat fewer nasty hiker toes :D (You folks will need to do your part by doing fewer things that require toes to be bitten :jump )

Like I said in another thread - the dino stomach is a 'no-smoking' area and you are a known resident - proof (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showpost.php?p=482245&postcount=10)

"New Years resolutions" have a worse failure rate than marriages and thru-hikes combined

Good, I sincerely hope you fail miserably with your New Years resolution, Wolfy. I likes my wolves to be healthy.

Holy crap I've already quit all my bad habits. I guess I'll have to quit one of my good ones.
PS I quit smoking 12 years ago. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's worth doing it and there is life on the other side of quitting. It's not going to get any easier by putting it off. ...so you're saying I should resolve to quit nagging?

To join a couple of locak outdoor clubs that I have been meaning to join for a few months.

Just be careful with those butts. You can't throw them away carelessly. They're dangerous. You might burn down........... a shelter:eek:

I am going to measure my success this year entirely by the number of hours I spend outdoors with my daughter. Doesn't matter if its in the woods or not, as long as its outside. Driving time doesn't count.

I met last year's goal to hike the 42 mile Maryland portion of the AT. My goal (resolution) for 2008 is to hike from Harpers Ferry to Front Royal - mostly barefoot!

In 2007 my resolution was to lose weight and I lost 35 lbs. This year my resolution is to finish that hike I've been trying to do for the last five years! Still not sure if I'll start in April with the henhike or July SOBO by myself, but I'm going!
